A word about Randy’s company

Some things to consider
when hiring an entertainer

I work very hard to run my business by a very simple rule nearly everyone has learned since childhood: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Very simply put, the Golden Rule. It is my wish to be as fair, as courteous, as professional, and as caring as possible. Exactly what I would want were our roles reversed. These are some of the policies I stand by: |

1. Pricing |
|
Although pricing is subject to change from time to time, Randy’s shows are generally priced very fairly and we invite you, even encourage you, to shop around. Can you find someone who costs less? We’re certain you can. But the question you must ask yourself is will it be a professional production geared specifically to meet your needs? Randy’s shows are also package-based, meaning the pricing runs according to show packages allowing you to choose what is best for you. Close-Up Magic of Randy events all have multi-hour entertainment savings built in as well, should you require entertainment for a longer event.
We won’t go into great detail here because we’ve done so elsewhere on the site. You can read about it at: Guarantee! Suffice it to say, the guarantee is in place to make you more comfortable with the fact that you’re paying a lot for entertainment. It’s also our way of saying how certain we are that you, your audience, and your guest of honor (if you have one) will have a terrific time!
As Randy stated above, he bases his business on the ancient We believe the single best thing we can do to cause our business to grow is to treat customers with the exact same courteousness, kindness, and professionalism that we expect when we buy something ourself. As a magician friend of Randy’s has put it, we try to Under Promise and Over Deliver; however, if we fall short of that goal, we want to know about it. After every show, Randy asks his clients for their input via a Critique Form. You don’t even have to pay for the stamp! You can believe we give those forms because we honestly care what you have to say. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t take the time. Although it is difficult to read someone’s less than
perfect comments about yourself, Randy truly believes that is what
keeps him working as hard as he does to make your party an unforgettable
one. Your comments and insights help Randy to continuously
tweak, develop, brainstorm and alter performances to better meet your
needs.
Because Randy relies on performing for people to make a living, he requires a deposit of 50% of your show cost. The deposit holds your date and time slot. This is to ensure that Randy does not show up at your door only to be told you’ve changed your mind. The deposit is what protects him, as a performer. Once you have booked your event, we will send you a contract that discusses the details of our phone conversation and lists the deposit amount due. We require the deposit in order to secure the time and date of your event. The balance will be due the day of the performance after the show.
As co-members of the human race, we want to be as fair as possible and understand things change. Plans fall through, problems arise and emergencies crop up. Randy is also; however, a business person and, as such, he has to temper his understanding with the need to keep his career feeding the kids! Cancellations are notices that occur less than 14 days before your event. Our policy on refunding your deposit is very simple and straight forward: if you cancel 14 days or more in advance of your event, you will receive a 100% refund of your deposit. Cancellations within 14 days result in the deposit being non-refundable. The single reason we keep that policy is that we could have booked other events in that time slot and a loss of revenue has resulted. There is; however, never a charge to reschedule your event. You may reschedule as many times as necessary, with the understanding that a change to your date or time is contingent on availability. We promise to work with you as much as possible to accommodate your request to change the date & time of your event.
